I agree with 134.84.134.46 - wiki means anyone should be able to contribute anything, not only what a small, centralised committee would approve. Why not conduct a randomized poll of wikihow users and contributors what they think of the deletion policies? |

134.84.134.46 - wiki doesn't imply or require 'anarchy'. It doesn't mean 'anything with no restrictions' - it means 'anything which furthers the objectives of the project' - for wikiHow, the objective of the project is to build a helpful, practical, family-friendly how-to manual. We delete things which do not contribute to the objectives of the project in a positive manner. |

Versageek - The two IP contributors do have some legitimate ideas, especially the one partaining to the randomized survey. If anyone can be allowed to contribute, then you ought to at least let the contributors and users decide how wikihow should develop. The original creators of wikihow may not have envisioned this, but if your goal is people's particpation, then you should hear what they have to say, and whether they agree with the original visions of the creators. This would be a sound and direct democratic system. I am in favour of 130.91.156.225's suvey/poll idea, although we would need to discuss the specifics of conducting a scientifically sound survey/poll that is reflective of wikihow's community. Please let me know what you think :) |

At the one week anniversary of the date of the nfd tag I review the article talk page and based on the consensus of the impute I either take the tag off or delete the article. Yes, they're legal, but pot is legal in some countries and I doubt that a page titled "How to Smoke Pot in an Amsterdam Coffeeshop" would be allowed. Legal or illegal it's still a recreational drug, which violates the policy. | |

I'm glad that wikihow will be able to delete spam, and innapropriate posts, comments, and topics. I was a bit astonished and astounded when I looked under "Topics that are included" and saw "How to kiss". Kissing is partially sexual, so a TipTip for the moderators: Watch out for topics and posts relating to kissing. It may "twist and turn" and "get out of hand", shall we say. I have an issue with the fact that an article on smoking a cigarette is included. It is, as was mentioned earlier, a recreational drug and harmful to both the person doing it and those around him. i also feel that some sexual discussion pages, ie. "how to tell your girlfriend you want to have sex with her" should be included as long as they are not profane. These can be important topics, and i am sure some people could greatly benifit from a little extra "how to" help. |
