How to Bake a Chocolate Bundt Cake
Baking is one of peoples' favorite hobbies. It's fun, entertaining and usually has yummy results. Here is the perfect chocolate Bundt cake.

For the cake mix:
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup sour cream (or low-fat)
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 sticks (8 oz.) unsalted butter, bit more for Bundt pan
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
- 4 medium sized eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
For the glaze:
- 3 oz. bitter chocolate
- 1/2 cup heavy cream (double cream)
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 tbsp cognac or rum

1Make the cake. With the extra butter, rub the inside of a 14-cup bundt pan (including the sides). In a large mixing bowl, whisk the flour, cocoa, soda and salt. In a separate and smaller bowl mix the milk and sour cream.Ad

2Mix the sugar and butter in a mixer until pale and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one by one and the vanilla extract, slowly reducing the speed of the mixer. With the mixer still beating all of them together, add the flour mixture, alternating with the milk and cream mixture and ending with the rest of the flour mixture.

3Fold in the walnuts (if using). Spoon the batter into the Bundt pan and smooth out the mixture. Bake for about 50-60 minutes, until a tester or fork inserted in the middle comes out clean. Place the cake onto a wire rack and leave to cool for 10 minutes.

4Make the glaze. Place the chocolate in a mixing bowl. Heat the double cream in a pan until it starts simmering, then pour on the chocolate. Leave for about 2 minutes. Add the butter and cognac or rum (if using) and mix with a whisk.

5Leave to cool, occasionally stirring until slightly thickened. Pour the glaze over the cake.Ad
