We have a concept website built with Wordpress that we would like converted to Ruby on Rails and updated with more features. Plus minor fixes. New Features 1. We would like to add customer reviews for services provided to our CRM. Dual review for contractors and customers. 2. Email notifications for contractors for posts in certain categories to be sent to users 3. CRM changes: we would like a separate user interface for customers and service providers. Currently we have one. 4. Basic updates to the site: how services are categorized and searched, new homepage search options both jobs posted and contractors. 6. Site needs to be optimized for speed and security (open to proposals). Needed fixes: 1. For resized displays, the tiling for the bidding categories ends up having an uneven margin. This is apparent on any screen that's zoomed in or on mobile devices. The tiles should be centered. 2. The bottom margin should either be fixed to the bottom, or its background should extend to the bottom rather than be this big giant white space. 3. In Internet Explorer 8 the overlay for each category does not work. 4. Each picture for each category is scaled down by HTML. For example, the "Driveways" picture is really 1024 x 768, and it is downloaded at that resolution, but then it's scaled down by the HTML to 270px by 270px. This not only makes the picture distorted, but the images take a long time to load because their file size is way bigger than it needs to be. 5. Your FAQ, About Us, and Privacy Policy all need formatting such as bolding, font sizes, and h1 or h2 tags. 6. Each of your pages has an unfriendly URL. 7. Change some pictures on the homepage Site is hosted on 1and1.com If you're interested we can send you a link with our address and you can check it out. We can send admin login as well. Hi, I'm the CTO of nohatdigital.com and a fellow Rails developer. Our company teaches online marketing to people and we're growing like crazy. We're looking for a strong Rails developer to help build out a courseware we're using to teach students. We're using the latest and greatest in the Ruby ecosystem (MRI 2.1.2, Rails 4.1.6, ActiveAdmin, etc.) so you will work on a cutting edge application stack. On the frontend, we're using Bootstrap 3 and one of the Bootswatch themes. There is no requirement for single page functionality so you don't need to know Angular/Ember/Backbone/Javascript frameworks. You can be located anywhere in the world but MUST be available for at least 2 hours per day during the 9am-5pm Pacific Time window. We have enough work to fill a 20 hour (part time) work week.
