It is nearly equivalent to paying Facebook to "promote" your post (which we all know they are trying to push on regular users). I use custom life events regularly to get more exposure. For example, I recently posted my website. There wasn't a relevant event for it, but I wanted the exposure and feedback from my social network. With this in mind, I would relabel this article: FREE FACEBOOK POST PROMOTION or even Add Life Events on Facebook for free post promotion
