How to Develop the Right Side of Your Brain
The right half of the brain controls certain things, and the left half of the brain controls other things, but what do the different sides do? Find out here.
EditSteps
-
1Do things with your left side of the body to increase the size of your right brain motor centre.
-
2Realize that the neuroscience on lateralization (lateral = on the side) of brain functions is controversial. However, it is known that patients with brain lesions (e.g. damage due to car accidents) are able to compensate for functional loss in one hemisphere (a side of the brain). The prospects for a reconfiguration of neurons (brain cells) depends on the extent and location of the lesion as well as age. The younger, the greater the plasticity (the mobility and adaptability of neurons) of the brain. Thus, learning gets more difficult as we age.

3Read up on the latest on what activities are frequently associated with the right brain.
-
4Engage in right brain activities often.
-
5Practice. The more you practice the better the connection between neurons will be (Hebb's principle aka. Hebbian learning). The more neuronal (nerve) impulses travel through your right brain, the better it will be prepared for future impulses.
