Here are some ideas on how to improve the article:

  • Provide a (much) more comprehensive tool map for the "Tips" section.
  • Provide tool maps for more specialized areas of problem solving, e.g. math problem solving.
  • It's nice to have a suitable layout for problem solving tools. Mind mapping makes this relatively easy, e.g.
    • you can repeatedly ask "why?" to find the root cause of a problem; the answers to the why's can be arranged in branches;
    • if you want to transfer concepts from one area to another, you can collect the given concepts in one branch with subbranches, and the ideas derived from this in another;
    • you can use the well-known "SCAMPER" creativity technique by dealing with each letter in a separate branch;
    • etc.
  • Describe a software-based approach for problem solving with FreeMind.
