Do you know anyone who is not an ideologue under this definition? (except you and I of course)

Sure, lot's of people. They key difference between you and the ideologue is that she doesn't talk about anything else.

My question however is "now what?" Once you identify that one of your acquaintances is an ideologue what do you do about that? Avoid him? Surely if it's unpleasant to talk with her, you would have done so already? Or maybe we are expected to report them to a mental institution (how would that work?) what?

Based on what your article says, everyone is an Ideologue.

Everyone holds some beliefs dear and they will stick by them. If not, they have no principles. That would make them a pretty poor excuse for a person, don't you agree?

This new moniker for principled people is just plain stupid.

Please rework this composition, it creates bias with no scientific evidence and contains no beneficial conclusion for recognizing others as alien. I would prefer it even more if it were removed entirely, as it has become a featured article focusing on negativity.

"They key difference between you and the ideologue is that she doesn't talk about anything else." "The difference is that a passionate person can understand objections to their ideas, and can resist the temptation to bring up the issue. An ideologue can't do either of these things." An ideologue is probably talks a lot about their perspective and refuses to be incorrect by sheer stubbornness. I think this article is supposed to promote non-hostile ways of debating, similar to Gandhi's style of protesting. True, following the advise makes ideologues feel insecure but I do not know of any alternate solution that would benefit ideologues.

Idea: why not rename the article 'How to Deal with an Incredibly Narrow Minded Person'? I think that would clarify the purpose of this article.
