-
2Choose your liner material. They come in plastic, coated paper, or cork mats or other materials. You can get adhesive-backed liner that will stick in place.
-
3Make sure you have a good pair of scissors or a sharp cutter to get a clean cut.
EditMethod 2 of 2: Install Your Shelf Liner
-
1Remove everything from the shelves.
-
2Clean the shelves with a cloth and warm water. Use a few drops of detergent in the water if you have very dirty or sticky shelves.
-
3Let the shelves dry.
-
4Measure the shelves with a tape measure. Get the width and depth at the widest points and mark them down on a piece of paper.
-
5Place the shelf liner face down on a solid surface and mark the correct area to cut. Use a tape measure or ruler to draw a straight line if the liner does not have grids to follow.
-
6Cut out your liner.
-
7Place the liner on the shelf and mark any notches that may need to be cut further.
-
8Cut and trim any areas to make a secure fit.
-
9Peel off the adhesive backing of the liners a little at a time and smooth the liner onto the shelf. Make sure there are no air bubbles.
-
10Restock your shelves when you are finished.
