Sharing videos with friends can be a lot of fun. But posting them in the public domain is not always best for everyone. There are many video hosting sites out there but this article only covers how to upload and share videos from your computer using KinKast.

    Go to KinKast and sign-up for an account.

    Log in to your account.

    Click on "Upload" in the upper right corner of the page.

    Click "Choose Files" and select the video you wish to upload from your computer. KinKast supports the following video formats: MP4, AVI, MTS, FLV, MOV, OGG.

    Uploading may take a little while as upload speeds are much slower than download speeds for most internet providers and HD video uses at least 75 mb/minute of recording. KinKast will show you how far along in the process you are and when the video is ready the "Play" button will appear and KinKast will send you a confirmation e-mail.

    When the video is ready, you can click play if you are still on the webpage shown above, follow the link in the e-mail or return to KinKast and log-in. This will take you to your Video Player Page where you can watch, download, share, and delete your video. In order to see your library of videos, click on the Video Selection Page icon (outlined by the yellow square).

    Click "Share" (outlined by the green square above) and the share form will appear in the window.

    KinKast will remember who you shared with last time and automatically fill in part of the form. You can create groups or add a new contact by clicking on "Friends and Groups."

    Finish filling in the form and click "Share" in the bottom right of the form. That's it, your friends will receive an e-mail with a link to a private website where they can watch only the videos you have shared with them. And best of all they won't have to create a user name and log-in, all they need is the link and they can view your video from anywhere.

  • All videos start out as private and are not indexed by search engines, etc. They can only be seen by those you share with and those people can not re-share your movie with others.
  • You can set up contact groups and share with them even quicker.
  • All videos are converted to the MP4 format at 768x432 pixels and a 1,200 kb/s bitrate, that's good enough to watch on your flat screen or projector and compact enough to easily stream online.
  • You can download your own videos (in the converted format, not the original) from the website.
