EditSteps
-
1Try steering the conversation into another direction. Have a list of alternative topics in your head to raise every time that you see them.
-
2Suggest that they think about what they're saying all the time. Ask them if they are obsessed with the topic of sex and whether that worries them or not. They will probably say it doesn't but let them know that it bothers you.
-
3Tell the other person that you find it offensive that they only ever talk about sex. Say it kindly but suggest that you'd rather the two of you talk about many other things instead and that if this isn't possible, you might have to spend some time away from them as you have had enough of it for now.
-
4Point out how their sex talk is making other people feel. Find out how your other friends and acquaintances feel about this person's need to always talk about sex and let this person know that the general feeling is that other people don't appreciate it either.

EditTips
- If they learned the sex stuff from medical books and talk about it in a serious way, they don't mean it in a dirty way.
- Be alert to the possibility that this person might have a disorder that causes them to talk this way all of the time. Talk to people who know them well before jumping to conclusions too quickly.
