How to Stop Stressing Using a Candle Relaxation Technique

This relaxation technique uses a candle with the word "RELAX" on it to take the edge of your study or work stress. Try it; it is a good focusing exercise.

    Grab a tall thin candle and a black marker.

    Write the word 'relax' vertically down the side of the candle.

    As the candle burns through each letter, choose a positive topic to think about. Choose subjects such as family, friends, holidays, music etc.

    Change the positive topic as each letter burns.

    Try another great technique with the candle. Breathe deeply while looking at the base of the wick where the flame changes colour. Let your mind go blank and focus only on your breathing.
