There are many different reasons as to why an Android user would need to utilize multiple methods when installing applications on their device. One reason to use Play Store alternatives to download and install the applications is simply due to the layout of the interface. If you enjoy having different things to look at on your device, might as well make it look beautiful.

EditMethod 1 of 2: Use the Google Play Store
Installing applications via Google Play is hands-down the easiest method. Google did an amazing job with the interface, by making it user friendly and straightforward.

1Open Google Play Store. Open up your application drawer. Search for the icon labeled "Play Store."Ad

2Search for the magnifying glass icon at the upper right of your screen. It should be directly below the time on your device. You should now see your keyboard appear.

3Type in the name of the application you wish to install. Press the key that looks like a magnifying glass on your on-screen keyboard.
- You will now see the results for your search. They will be broken up into categories, with headers such as “Apps” and “Music.”

4Click on the icon of the application you wish to install. This will bring up the application description, screen-shots, and reviews.

5Press the “Install” button to install the application. It is located below the search bar, and to the right of the application icon.

6Press “Accept.” You will now see a pop-up window; this window explains what the application can do to your device. If you trust the application, press “Accept” at the bottom, and your application will install.
EditMethod 2 of 2: Use Mobogenie Market
Installing applications via Mobogenie allows the user to install applications from the Play Store and other sources all from one beautiful interface.

1Open up your application drawer.

2Search for the icon labeled “Mobogenie.”

3Search for the magnifying glass icon at the upper right of your screen. It should be directly below the time on your device, and just to the right of the title bar that says “Mobogenie.” The location of the icon should be in nearly the same location for both methods.

4Type in the app name. You should now see your keyboard appear. Type in the name of the application you wish to install. Then, press the key that looks like a magnifying glass on your on-screen keyboard.
- You will now see the results for your search. This is where Mobogenie differs from the Play store.
- On the Mobogenie interface, you can simply be directed to the Play Store by clicking the Play Store icon.

5View app information. If you wish to view the application information, just press the correlating icon. The interface is similar; however, you must once again click the “Play Store” icon that is anchored to the bottom/center of the screen.
- Once at the Play Store screen, follow the steps from method one.
