There may be occasions where you are on the go and can’t be on your computer during an auction on eBay. The eBay mobile app can be a handy tool so you can continue monitoring and bidding on items you want even while away from your computer. It’s even easier to snipe using the mobile app, especially during the last few seconds of the auction—you just need the last 10 seconds to enter your bid.

    Launch the eBay mobile app.

    Search for an auction. Tap on the "Search eBay" text box and type an item you’re looking for. Tap on "Search."
    • Tap on "Format" from the menu and select "Auction." Customize your filters by tapping and configuring the options from the menu.

    Record your auction. Note the auction you’re interested in and the auction end time.
    • You can also tag your item in your Watching list for easier tracking.

    Pay attention to eBay notifications. eBay will send Ending Soon notifications for items under your Watching list or Buying list.

    Check your item. If it is still in a good price range, start monitoring it closely, and start thinking about how much you’re willing to pay for it.

    Monitor the item. There’s no need to refresh your page. The mobile app automatically shows you the real time as it counts down.

    Place your bid. Wait until the auction has about 30 seconds left. Tap on "Place Bid," and a window will pop up where you can input your bid price.
    • Place your bid using the number keypad.
    • Append a few cents to your maximum bid, as these last few cents may matter in the final price. Make sure these few cents are on top of the bid increments.
    • Tap "Place Bid."

    Confirm your bid. With about 10 seconds left, review your final bid and tap "Confirm Bid." You should see the time count down the last few seconds while the app processes your bid.

    Wait for the winning bid notification. If your snipe is successful, you will see the item under your Won list. Otherwise, you will see the item under the Didn’t Win list.

    Pay for your item. If you do win, make sure you pay right away. Some sellers will give the item to the next highest bidder if they don’t receive the payment within the next couple of days.
