iPhone: Understanding U.S. government alerts

Learn about U.S. government alerts.

To enable or disable U.S. government alerts or AMBER Alerts, follow these steps:

  1. Tap Settings > Notification Center.
  2. Scroll to the very bottom of the screen.
  3. For each type of alert, tap on or off.
    Government notifications

Note: This feature is supported on iPhone 4s and later on AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon, along with most rural carriers.
