Most people in the developing world don't have access to electricity,or even can't afford to purchase an oven. This therefore does not mean that such people cant bake cakes for their families or even commercial purposes. Using a charcoal Jiko is very much convenient to them because it is affordable and accessible to them.

    Prepare you cake mix.

    Light the Jiko. Put some sand in a metallic container (karai if it is available), then place it on the Jiko. Let it preheat for sometime.

    Put your cake mixture on the tin. Scoop some preheated sand and put it on the lid then take some burning charcoal and put it on the lid with charcoal. Cover the fire with some sand.

    Wait for your cake to cook for about 20-30 minutes.
