There's power and authenticity here. And by the movie's incendiary climax, some tension. If only it were presented in a more magnetic package.

Not your ordinary hack and slash violence Film has some twisted violent scenes, not your ordinary hack and slash, blood gushing splatter everywhere violence, but the twisted evil violence that makes you cringe, yet I didnt want to look away. Interesting character development, by the end of the film I wasnt sure who who I sided with, our protagonist or antagonist.

AS NIGHT COMES AS NIGHT COMES is a fantastic and gripping film about the struggles that everyone has or will go through at some point in their lives...fitting in, peer pressure, bullying etc. I highly recommend this film to both teens and parents as it is an eye-opening dose of reality, filled with depth and urgency to start a much needed conversation. Further, the film is a beautifully shot and executed independent feature film. We need more like these!

As Night Comes I recommend this to anyone who is a fan of a teen high school thriller. But "As Night Comes" is not only just a great suspense story, but also really makes the watcher think. What would you do if you were Sean Holloway? How would you treat the world if you were someone like Ricky Gladstone? This film puts you back in the mindset you might have had in high school, walking the halls and doing what you could to survive. It will really be a thrilling ride with a well needed, long-over due message that needs to be known and told. .

Great High School thriller ! Miles above most independent films made with lower budgets, As Night Comes is just a great movie. The teen drama is realistic and the teenage angst right in your face. A lot of tension as well make for a very pleasant surprise. Highly recommended.

LBF What an awesome movie!! I had the pleasure of seeing it at pre-release screening at Fox Studios & then again saw it at Laemmle's Music Hall where it played in limited release. Again, I was reminded of how powerful the film is and think I got even more from the second screening. It's loaded with layers of psychology in each character. I was on the edge of my seat & for the next few days the movie continued to make me think of how difficult it can be in the high school world. I can’t wait to watch it again with friends on Itunes.

A Most Violent Year
Thriller

A MOST VIOLENT YEAR is a searing crime drama set in New York City during the winter of 1981, statistically the most dangerous year in the city’s history. From acclaimed writer/director J.C. Chandor, and starring Oscar Isaac (INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS) and Jessica Chastain (ZERO DARK THIRTY), this gripping story plays out within a maze of rampant political and industry corruption plaguing the streets of a city in decay. J.C. Chandor’s third feature examines one immigrant’s determined climb up a morally crooked ladder, where simmering rivalries and unprovoked attacks threaten his business, family, and - above all - his own unwavering belief in the righteousness of his path. With A MOST VIOLENT YEAR, Chandor journeys in a bold new direction, toward the place where best intentions yield to raw instinct, and where we are most vulnerable to compromise what we know to be right.
