How to Help a Child Develop Interest in Studies

Children are at their learning best between 2 to 5 years of age. It is up to the parents to deal with them in this crucial stage of their child's life.

EditSteps

  1. 1
Give the child proper attention and try to understand his/her likes and dislikes. Your child needs nothing but your time and attention. When you spend proper time with the child, you are aware of the likes and dislikes, making it easier to deal with him/her.
  2. 2
Try to plan his/her daily schedule. Activities like playing, drawing and painting are as important as studies for a child's development, so you should make it a point to do them with your child. Such activities also help in bonding with the child.
  3. 3
Create a learning environment within the house. Children do not learn what is told to them but they learn what they see. When parents keep this in mind, they successfully create a positive environment for their child.
  4. 4
Never force the child to study: Pressurising the child to study may leave him develop repulsion from studies. Instead, try to develop in him the interest to learn from various things and situations around him. For example, while going out for a walk you may tell him the name of the tree or the bird seen on the way or you may tell him about the parts of a plant and so on. By doing this, he will soon develop an urge to learn new things.
  5. 5
Tell your child the importance of education in life in simple words.
