Osmo is an educational gaming system that works with your iPad and three game apps to transform the physical space in front of the iPad into a digital game board. Recommended for ages six and older, the games help increase problem solving, creative thinking, visual, spatial, and abstract thinking skills. Tangram
Arrange wooden puzzle pieces into matching on‑screen shapes. Play with your child or challenge yourself to more advanced levels as your handiwork lights up with each victory.
Newton
Use your creativity and inventive objects such as a hand‑drawn basket, grandma's glasses, dad's keys, or anything around you to guide falling on‑screen balls into targeted zones.
Words
Be the first to guess and spell out the on‑screen hidden word by tossing down real‑life letters faster than your friends. A related picture gives the clue.

Osmo is a wonderful system.
I used OSMO yesterday for the first time with my granddaughter and it is everything I'd hoped for and more. Coming from a twenty y I used OSMO yesterday for the first time with my granddaughter and it is everything I'd hoped for and more. Coming from a twenty year teacher and curriculum designer that is a huge compliment. I combines hands on manipulative pieces with screen interaction and reinforcement. Educationally sound Osmo offers room to grow with many levels. The Tangram is a classic learning tool this game makes Tangrams meaningful and fun and supports creative thinking and spatial awareness.
Words is a great spelling and letter recognition game that offers team play or competition with the possibility of your adding your own words... and pictures, such as family members and many levels of play. It uses uppercase letters so that young children can be successful right away.
Finally, the system is beautiful and well made for long term use and the support is great from a company that is enthusiastic and proud of its product. Plus they are always creating and it it a pleasure to be a part of such a creative and thoughtful enterprise. I bought OSMO just before our son's 5th birthday. The product is beautifully designed, and you can tell much thought has gone into I bought OSMO just before our son's 5th birthday. The product is beautifully designed, and you can tell much thought has gone into software, hardware ( mirror and stand), and even packaging . The unboxing experience was similar to that of unboxing an Apple product.
OSMO came with three games 1) Words 2) Tangram 3) Newton.
Our son loves Words ( he is an early reader ) and I must admit it is an addictive family game. It nudges kids to think creatively.
He has also spent many hours playing Tangram. A few weeks after we received OSMO, our son took the Stanford Binet IQ test. We did not have much of an idea about the format of the test. So, we were surprised when the test administrator told us that the test had a section on Tangram puzzles and that our hit the highest level, and got all answers correct in that part of the test. OSMO gets some credit for that.
The idea behind Newton is great, but we found it a bit awkward to play.
Overall, this is a great game platform for kids. Hopefully OSMO will come out with new games that are just as entertaining and educational as the current ones. A money game involving real coins would be great :). …- Written by Satya M from San Diego
