Steps
-
1Avoid capitalization: Don’t make every word in your sentence starting with a capital letter. Except for in proper nouns, avoid capitalization.
-
2Check sources: Make sure that every source cited in the text is present in your list of references. Also, check for the correct spellings.
-
3Pay heed to pagination: While formatting page numbers; remember to use Roman numerals for front matter, Arabic number for dissertation body. Plus, the page numbers should be centered whether they are at top or bottom of page.
-
4Figures and tables: Figures and tables that take space more than a page must be characterized properly on each page. Any subsequent page of the figure/table must include the “continued” notation.
-
5Abstract formatting errors: In abstract, the author name should be right-justified and adviser name should be left-justified. You can include up to two adviser names.
-
6Consistency check: Pay attention for uniformity between sub-headings and table of content data.
-
7Declaration: Universities consider plagiarism as a very serious offense and therefore, require a properly signed and dated declaration stating that all work is their own. Different universities have different format for it.
