Do you have a knack for fixing grammar, spelling, and other mistakes? One of the most helpful ways to improve wikiHow is to copyedit articles. While you can copyedit any article on wikiHow using the normal "editing" function, the wikiHow's Copyediting Article Greenhouse tool is another great way to help out.

  2. Use the wikiHow Copyedit Greenhouse Step 2.jpg
    2
Read through the given article quickly, to see what kind of copyediting issues it has and whether you can fix them. Make sure you understand what it's saying; if you don't, it will be much harder to determine how to fix any errors.
  3. Use the wikiHow Copyedit Greenhouse Step 3.jpg
    3
Click "Yes, Edit this Article" in the top right if you feel that you can fix the problems
    • If not, click "No, Skip Article" to try the next one in the queue.

  4. Use the wikiHow Copyedit Greenhouse Step 4.jpg
    4
Scroll down to the article and fix all the errors. Make sure you consider spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and grammar. Remove any personal references (me, I, my, etc.) and consider editing the formatting, if necessary, too.
  5. Use the wikiHow Copyedit Greenhouse Step 5.jpg
    5
Double check how it looks when you're done. Click on "Preview" to see it looks how you intended. If there are any mistakes, scroll down to the editing area to fix them.
    • Remember that previewing is not the same as publishing or saving your work.
  6. Use the wikiHow Copyedit Greenhouse Step 6.jpg
    6
    Click the "Publish" button.
    • If, while working on an article, you decide that you can't fix the problems after all, you can click the "Cancel" link to skip this article without publishing any changes.

  7. Use the wikiHow Copyedit Greenhouse Step 7.jpg
    7
Decide whether the article should have its copyedit tag removed or not.
    • If you think it's in great shape now, click "Yes".
    • If it may still need work, click "No." Your changes will still be saved, but this will give others a chance to notice and work on the article, too.

Tips
Provide Details.
Please be as detailed as possible in your explanation. Don't worry about formatting! We'll take care of it. For example:
Don't say: Eat more fats.
Do say: Add fats with some nutritional value to the foods you already eat. Try olive oil, butter, avocado, and mayonnaise.

    • Preview: ^ Ctrl+ Alt+V
