1Think about why you can only talk on Facebook. The reasons might be compelling enough to dissuade you from continuing this clandestine talking:
- If your parents have forbidden you from meeting, then think again. They'll probably either catch you out on Facebook anyway, or your boyfriend will soon tire of this approach.
- If your boyfriend refuses to speak to you in any other way, then question his reasoning. Is it really fair that he insists on this? Do you know why? Do you know what else he's up to, and with whom?!
- If it's because you're shy, perhaps it's time to become more confident.
- If it's because he lives far, far away, think seriously about whether this is going to work for both of you. It can work online in general, but you need to be sure the time and effort you put in to communicating in this very narrow fashion (Facebook only) is worth it.

2Think seriously about whether it is even worth seeing your "relationship" as boyfriend and girlfriend. Perhaps it is more likely to be simply an online friendship, especially if it is only centered around communicating through Facebook rather than sharing an interest or hobby online.

3If you do think it's worthwhile, consider putting a time line on how long you want to communicate in this way. You might say to yourself that you're prepared to put up with this for three months, after which time, you expect to be able to meet up, or at least phone one another, and if not, the "relationship" is over.
