Following the blood trail can be beneficial when hunting deer and other animals. Read on to find out how!

EditSteps

  1. 1
After you have shot your game, keep your eye on it until it goes out of sight or drops. If your game goes out of sight, even if you think it's a kill shot, wait a few minutes. A wounded deer can still run for miles if startled.
  2. 2
After you have waited 5 to 10 minutes, follow the blood trail. If it's raining, or if you just can't find it, look for trails, disturbed mud or grass, or footprints. If you still can't find it, follow the general direction the kill took off in and look for the body.
