I am trying to find a copy of a news article that appeared perhaps a year ago in which it was shown that it was practical to make a successful fly trap that could reduce the fly population in 3rd world villages using one or two pop bottles and some animal dung. One of the pop bottles is cut at the bottom and the top of the one other bottle is pushed up into the bottom, then some animal dung is placed inside and the top cap is screwed on. The flies are attracted inside and then cannot find their way back outside the pop bottle.

However, I have not been able to find this article on the internet. I do remember most of what I read, perhaps I have forgotten one or two details. I hope some one else remembers this article or can find it reproduced some where.

As a general rule, facts cannot be copyrighted. This means that you are able to use any facts you find to support your article.
From Use Research Sources on wikiHow:
Although facts are not subject to copyright, the words used to express them are, particularly if the wording is original or unique (copyright covers original expression). You are free to use information from other materials in your articles, but you must use your own words to express it.

Both of the references that the substeps links to say that compilations of facts are copyrightable. Unless I'm misunderstanding something, shouldn't the article be updated to reflect that - just in case somebody finds and decides to use a research source with enough facts to be considered a compilation?
