How to Write in Tic Tac Toe Code
This code uses a tic tac toe format. If you know how it works, it can be very easy to understand.
Steps
-
1Draw three tic tac toe boards (a 3 x 3 grid).Ad
-
2Leave the first set the way it is. Put a distinct dot in the center of each space in the second set. In the third set, use a different shape, like a square or a triangle. Get crafty. The more unique your signs are, the harder it will be to decipher. But use the same sign for the whole set.
-
3Assign each space its own letter. A= _|, B= |_|, C= |_etc.
-
4Use your newfound code!Ad

Tips
- Also use a sign or shape for the first set, this way the spy will be more unable to recognize the sets.
- Since there are only 26 letters in the alphabet and you have 27 spaces, you can create a fourth chart for numbers. The charts would appear like so: 'ABC/DEF/GHI__JKL/MNO/PQR__STU/VWX/YZ1__234/567/890' For my charts I use blanks on the first, dots on the second, backslashes on the third, and forward slashes on the fourth. This also gives you more options with 'appending words'- you can put numbers in them, or even put them between the letters and numbers!
- You can also mix up the code by mixing up the order of the alphabet you use. Just use a word (I call these 'appending words')that both you and confidante know. For instance, using the word 'window' as an example, instead of labeling the charts 'ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ', label them 'WINDOABCEFGHJKLMPQRSTUVXYZ' being careful to not repeat the W. You can use any word you can imagine! You can also add the word to the end, or add it backwards, or both! At school, I have seven different versions- one for every class, using the name of the class as each respective appending word.
- Be creative and try to change this code because many people know it as described. You could, for example, use other signs such as -,#,@,! etc., instead of regular dot and shapes, this way "spy reader" will find it difficult or even impossible to read it because he won't know which set the signs belong to as he knows the traditional method.
Warnings
- This is a simple substitution code, and they are not as difficult to break as other types of codes.
- Be careful about this code, this may be new for you but many people may know it, because it had been used for ages!
- Be careful when using codes. You never know who knows this particular code.
