How to Handle Multiple Children
How many times have you been in a room full of children and had no idea what to do? This article will give you the know-how so you can stay sane and still manage to have fun!
EditSteps
-
1Give yourself a few days warning (if it's a party situation be sure to prep as needed- remove breakables, hide the expensive things, and stock adhesive bandages).Ad
-
2Come up with fun games and activities for everyone to enjoy, like Twister, volleyball, tag, painting, coloring or dancing- keep in mind that all of the children there might not want to do just one thing and they may all not want to do the same thing.
-
3Be sure you have plenty of caffeine-free beverages; yes there is still sugar in most soda, but it won't be nearly as bad if you gauge the caffeine and sugar intake. Most importantly; don't be the health nut. These are kids- they want to eat junk food and run around on a sugar high; just be sure that what they're eating is a little more healthy for them- 86 the carrot sticks and celery stalks. Remember to be the cool parent or adult and play with them; let them know that they are big kids too.
-
4Prepare nighttime activities; have a campfire, scary stories, smores, tents, the whole nine yards.Ad

EditTips
- Don't yell at the children, be more of a friend like voice and tell them that what they're doing is not a good idea; unless they're trying to set fire to the house or tent.
- Don't go with the bare minimum - these are kids, they do everything in excess.
- Don't forget to make sure that each child knows how to get to the bathroom, kitchen, or even to you if they really need you after everyone falls asleep.
EditWarnings
- Children may become excessively hyper and unruly and annoying - do your best to stay calm or run around with them until they cant do it anymore.
