Peter Travers
Everything Guardians of the Galaxy gets right with its mix of action and comedy, Hercules botches.
Sherilyn Connelly
The story is fairly straightforward, and, more importantly, so is much of the action.
David Hiltbrand
The battle scenes, though rousing, fall short of epic. But it's reliably fun to watch - up until the brutish, smudgy conclusion ...
John DeFore
It simply fails to exploit its assets: an amusing, revisionist take on the mythological strongman, and the charisma of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
Rafer Guzman
"Hercules" heaves and grunts along, interrupted by battle scenes that are visually impressive (when's the last time you saw someone pick up a horse and throw it?) but emotionally uninvolving.
Ben Kenigsberg
The movie is plagued by a split identity: It's half-slog, half-Mel Brooks.

A big-budget misfire of a sizeable order, a visually busy but emotionally dead endeavor that wearies the viewer with endless computer generated special effects while failing to provide a scintilla of human interest.

Great action flick This movie was action packed and flowed well. So what if it didn't follow the legend exactly, there have been movies and TV shows that have already done that, if this movie did the same, it would have been boring. This is a new take, a more (somewhat) realistic take on an old story. If you like action movies, this is worth at least the rent. Don't let all these purists tell you it's bad, they're probably the same ones that hate TNG because it's not as good as the original.
Trailer very misleading! If you were expecting the movie to be like the trailer with mythological things happening I suggest you do not rent or buy this movie. My husband and I were very excited to see this movie, especially since the trailers seemed to be suggesting lots of mythological action. We were highly disappointed. Had the trailers depict the movie as it was, this movie would have been decently good. The same scenes you see in trailer lasted just as long as they did in trailer, and to make it worse, was only story telling.

Awesome Better than the last Hercules and totally awesome I like how the whole movie constantly proves this was possible even without gods with Hercules exempted, but the plot was better than expected and I like how it got to the more important parts and not to much intro with a few flashbacks. So a well rounded story about a man with extraordinary power as a human who fought along other orphans as a family. It was both half action and development. 🙌very pleased

Heracles An interesting take of the mythology. Being based on a comic book series—or graphic novel if that is what you would rather consider it—that I have yet to read, it still makes for a good experience to watch. The film has battles that rival other power house titles, and still has ample movie time for solid dialogue.

Total disappointment This movie had intense action, good story to it...but then the language came into play. Now this movie takes place waaaayyy before any kind of language was even thought of. But nooo, bring multiple S*** into the movie...with wait for it...A F***. In Greek mythology...can someone please explain to me why this passed as an idea for this movie??? Because I'm honestly confused as to why the director allowed this...

Self Debunking (Spoiler Alert) The movie debunks itself. You basically find out the monsters he killed were only figurative, and that he really just killed hyped-up men. In the end, the message of the film is that you can do great things just by believing you're good enough to do them (see SNL's Stuart Smalley).

Bullshit Everything that the trailer showed you literally happens in the first 5 min of the movie... No mythological beings or anytype of supernatural things... The movie is based upon the man trying to live up to the legend... Which would be cool... If in fact Hercules was ever real... The plots simplistic, acting is eh, and fight scenes are mediocre at best... This movie was the biggest lie and disappointment... You got buff for this role Dwyane?

Hercules My Husband asked me to watch this with him, and said there shouldn't be too much violence in it, as I am not into violence, so much to my surprise. this was a horrible movie for me. As it was nothing But violence, blood and gore... I Hated it... to put it mildly... So very disappointed as I really wanted to enjoy a movie night with my Husband...

Great Movie Entertaining from beginning to end. Yes, it had all the the mythological monsters that we remember hearing about in stories but in this movie they were all just a myth..which seems more accurate. I loved the plot and the actors in this movie. They played their roles well! Action packed and great story!
Hercules Far and away the best hercules movie ever produced. And I've probably seen them all...from the days of Steve Reeves till now...it doesnt get better than this. The Rock was great.. not just his action..his acting. Great humor, great action, superb acting. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise..if you like action movies I promise you will love this one!!
Based on 15 years ago this man named for flute where the god. And he was strong and that's the only thing it tells you about how strong he was in there see if you want to see the movie yourself I could just tell you the whole think of you when you're strong and is it due to you not most of it but little bit up part 7 but the movie is not its real wrong its really hot and when you and when you watch the movie and tell you about her friends to die wasn't going to die yet!😇

Hercules I liked the movie, & look forward to see where it will lead! Any remember, Hercules, on occasion was either joining Thor, or they had the rare disagreements, lol, and those issues, along with with Conan The Barian, also along in similar, issues, I alway thought were underated!! But as one gentleman said what a time, to see these characters come to life! I can't help but enjoy seeing Stan Lee, getting as excited, as any of us, who remember, seeing now, stop lines equal to effects!!

Hummm I LOVE a good action movie, but like any movie a good script and plot still need to be present. Don't expect a 300 or even Fast & Furious performance here. It felt like a watered down Expendables. I really really wanted to like this movie but it was a little flat. Love you DJ, just missed it this time.
Woohoo! OK I didn't buy it but I've watched it on TV before its awesome! OK so maybe some kids like me shouldn't watch it but still its a great action packed movie and some things you'll understand better if u know your Greek mythology. I learned it so this is my new favorite movie. It has some humor in it but u don't even need humor to make this amazing its already leaving me with my mouth open with all the action! 100 star rating from me!👍👏👏👏👏HERCULES!💪 OH AND LAST THING: U PPL THAT THINK THIS MOVIE IS BAD BETTER SHUT YOUR MOUTH BECAUSE ITS AWSOME AND YOU'RE STOPPING HUNDREDS OF PPL FROM SEEING IT! SO WHAT IF IT'S NOT LIKE THE TRAILER! ITS BETTER THAN THE FREAKING TRAILER!😤 OK so anyways I love this movie😇
