Responsibilities and Duties of Teaching Assistants (TA)
In addition to attending the class, TAs may be expected to do a variety of activities such as preparing materials for class, holding “office hours” (virtual or live) for one-on-one tutoring and collecting materials, reviewing problem sets, assisting with graded assignments, arranging for media services in the classroom, maintaining the intranet Course Web Page, and teaching various sections of the class or labs. Exactly what is required of any individual TA is determined by the course instructor and depends on the student’s abilities and the needs of the specific course.
