How to Draw a Baby Elephant
Are you a fan of African wildlife, extremely large mammals, drawing, or all three? If so, you've come to the right place! Follow the steps below to learn to draw an adorable baby elephant.
Steps
-
1Draw a large circle for the head. Sketch a thin oval underneath as its base. Add in guidelines for the facial features.Ad
-
2Sketch in the trunk. Give it a slight arc (although it doesn't have to go down and to the right as in the example image). Remember, baby elephants have shorter trunks than adults do.
-
3Draw two small circles for the eyes. Add in the big ears. Sketch wrinkles on both the ears and the trunk.
-
4For the body, draw a large oval. You can have it overlap the head or stop the line at the sections of the ears where the head begins. Add in a wispy tail on the elephant's rear end.
-
5Draw a set of two large ovals for each leg. Draw a fat cylinder for each foot. The legs of elephants are surprisingly long (considering their weight), especially for baby elephants, so take that into account.
-
6Add details to your drawing. Outline and color the elephant and you're done!Ad
