How to Mod StarCraft

1After you have downloaded the tools, Download here [[1]] open WinMPQ. Click on "File" located at the top left hand corner of the screen, then select "Open"in the dropdown box.Ad -
2A box will come up, find your Starcraft folder and open "Patch_rt.mpq" -
3Find arr\units.dat in the list of files and right click it. -
4In the dropdown box that appears select extract and extract it into your "My First Mod" folder located with your Starcraft Tools. -
5Close WinMPQ -
6Open DatEdit -
7Click "File" on the top left corner of the screen and click "Open" -
8Find your Arr/Units.dat you've extracted and double click it- You should see a list of units on the left.

9Now select "Terran Marine" -
10The information on the right will display the marine's stats.Look for the "Vital Statistics" box. -
11Give the marine some shields, there's a small box next to the shields, click on it to give the marine shields just like protoss units. -
12Now click the "Advanced" Tab -
13Place a check mark in "Regenerate" and "Mechanical" -
14This gives the unit to regenerate its health just like Zerg units and also allows Terran SCVs to repair a marine. -
15Click on "File" and click "Save as" then find your "My First Mod" folder and double click on the "Arr" folder, save the file there(do not rename it or anything) -
16Extract MPQ Compactor -
17Look at file script file "Mpq compactor.jse"" -
18Drag "arr" folder from "My first mods" on to the Script file "Mpq compactor.jse". -
19Mpq compactor.jse script will create a arr.mpq file in the same directory. -
20Open MPQDraft -
21Now choose, if you like to distribute it to your friends so they can play with you or you can play against the computer.If you want to play with your friends, select "Create Self Executing MPQ" or if you want to play with a computer, select "Load MPQ Patch" -
22Use "Create Self Executing MPQ" because it's much easier.- Custom Name: name that whatever you like

23Input MPQ Filename: Find your MPQ file you just made with MPQ Compactor -
24Output SEMPQ Executable Filename: Name whatever you like -
25Click Next -
26In both "Programs" and "Components" select Starcraft -
27Click Next -
28Ignore this screen about Plugins, just click Finish -
29Find your .exe and double click it to play StarcraftAd

- In order to play with your friends online, distribute this file using a file host (Mediafire is a good one)
- To undo this mod, simply close Starcraft and start it as usual.
EditWarnings
- This is considered a "Modification" which is not allowed on Battle.net. You can alternatively play on LAN. Since Blizzard does not ban many hackers, it's less likely Blizzard will ban modders on Battle.net.
- You cannot play using this Mod with your friends. Yours friends must have this Mod in order to play with you over Battle.net. If else, you will drop
- Read carefully, a slight mistake could be big time.
