1Launch the Steam application on your computer.Ad

2Click on the “Steam” button located at the top left corner of the Steam menu bar.

3Click on “Settings.” Steam will then display the account settings menu.
- If you are using Steam on a Mac, click on “Preferences” instead of “Settings.”[1]

4Click on the “Account” tab.

5Click on “Verify Email Address.”

6Enter your email address details in the fields provided. Steam will then send an email containing a verification link to the email address you specified.

7Open the email message sent by Steam and click on the verification link provided. You will now be ready to enable Steam Guard through your Steam account settings menu.

1Close and reopen the Steam application on your computer.

2Click on “Steam” in the menu bar and select “Settings.”

3Click on the tab labeled “Account.”

4Verify that a green shield and the text “Protected by Steam Guard” is displayed next to the Security Status field. The Steam Guard feature is now protecting your Steam account.
- If the Security Status indicates that Steam Guard is still not enabled, proceed with the remaining steps in this article.

6Place a checkmark next to “Keep my account protected by Steam Guard.”
