EditMethod 1 of 4: warm up
-
1Make sure you have your team warm up correctly. Without a proper warm up, injuries may occur. Warm ups should start with a light jog for around two minutes up and down the basketball court. Slowly increase the intensity of the jog as the players get warmer.
-
2Start with some dynamic stretching. This could include; leg swings, lunges, sumo squats, hamstring pulls
-
3have players who may have individual injuries complete static stretches that may help them warm up further
EditMethod 2 of 4: Ball skills
-
1start with each player dribbling the ball, alternating hands. Make sure the ball is kept low and fast.
-
2pair up players and complete passing drills. These could include chest passing, overhead and bounce passes
EditMethod 3 of 4: Shooting drills
-
1using one hand, stand infront of the basketball hoop and practice shooting straight. As shots improve, move further out and add the other hand.
-
2Complete contested shooting; have a player pass the ball to another player at the freethrow line. The shooting player should try and execute a good shot under pressure to practice game pressure.
EditMethod 4 of 4: Game play
