This Patriotic Punch is the perfect beverage for the 4th of July. It’s fun, festive and super easy to make. We’re taking help from fresh blueberries, strawberries, and jicama to give us that red, white and blue look and taste!  There is no exact measurement for this punch, it’s really just equal parts of each… Read more »

Chilaquiles Frittata

Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day, but do you know what’s better than breakfast? Breakfast for dinner! Breakfast dishes are always easier to whip up, and are best on those nights when you don’t feel like spending hours in the kitchen cooking supper. This Chilaquiles Frittata takes two of my favorite dishes and… Read more »

Best Summer Beach Reads

If you’ve read my book recommendations before, then you know that there are few things I love more on this earth than sharing books. In fact, if you were my friend or my neighbor I’d happily fill your arms with new copies every time you came for a visit. But since you’re not, please use… Read more »

Confession time people. I hate camping. I don’t like the bugs or the dirt or that whole sleeping-on-the-ground component, it’s just not my jam. But you know what? I have three boys at home who love every single thing that grosses me out about camping and so I needed some sort of compromise. Am I… Read more »

Rachel’s Skincare Routine

Ok, I’m going to be totally honest… I don’t really know if any of you will care about my skincare routine. The Chic staffers suggested this idea because, though I don’t think of myself as high maintenance, apparently having this many steps for cleaning your face isn’t the norm. I don’t know that anything else in… Read more »

Cookie S’mores

Every year at Girl Scout Camp we made Cookie S’mores. If you’ve never had them before, it might seem simple but trust me, it’s about nine thousand times better than regular s’mores! The reason being, the chocolate melts as soon as it touches the marshmallow. Normally your chocolate just sort of sits there but in… Read more »

About The Chic

Back in 2004 when I was looking to name my events company, I stumbled across the word 'Chic' in an old dictionary. The definition was: “a fashionable lifestyle, ideology, or pursuit”. Chic isn’t a state of being or even a destination, chic is the journey you take on the way to something greater. ~Rachel

My husband and I are childless, but love kids and aren’t afraid of messes/things breaking, etc. But, one of the mothers made a comment about “another friend of hers… Read more »
