Embassy donates cancer medications

Ambassador Ayalde observes part of the donation.

Today, Ambassador Liliana Ayalde presented a donation of cancer treatment medications, medical equipment, and medical supplies from the American Embassy to the Instituto Nacional del Cáncer. During this presentation Ambassador Ayalde also donated additional medications and medical supplies for use by other Paraguayan medical centers.

The Government of the United States of America, in cooperation with the private sector and not for profit organizations, has made large donations of cancer treatment medications to Paraguayan medical centers in coordination with the Ministerio de Salud Publica y Bienestar Social and other Paraguayan institutions. The annual cooperation provided by the Government of the United States of America to Paraguay in the area of heath care has reached 3 million Dollars annually. In a gesture of goodwill to Paraguay and the administration of President Fernando Lugo, the Government of the Untied States of America announced an increase in the level of cooperation to the Paraguayan health care sector with an additional 6 million Dollars.
