How to Make a Movie Production
Want to make a movie production? Well, lets get started!
EditSteps
-
1Work out a storyline or direction you want the movie to go.
- Develop it with friends or the other people working on the movie with you.
- Storyboarding is a great way to go.

2Get a cast and/or crew.
- Friends, preferably, as you probably won't have to pay them.
-
3Name the movie
- Pick something that suits the storyline. For example, the title 'Mega Death Killer' would suit a slasher but not a romance.
-
4Buy a camera.
- Decide on a budget and purchase a video camera/ camcorder with that money.
-
5Film the movie.
- Decide beforehand on a shooting schedule so you will not face the problem of having to go back to the same place twice for another scene.
-
6Fine-tune the movie in editing.
- Programs such as Windows Movie Maker or iMovie are great for beginners.
-
7Get it out there!
- Post it online on websites such as YouTube, Vimeo or Dailymotion.
- Send it to film festivals.
- Create a website for your production. People can easily find a place to get updated on what you do if you create your own website. if you are a beginner, you can create one for free at www.webs.com.

EditTips
- Remember to copyright your production name and content. this can be done by writing this in the copyright box on your website, or in the video/movie that you are creating: © 2009 by *Production Name*. All rights reserved.
EditWarnings
- Do not duplicate other movies, i.e. calling your production/movie something like "the matrix production"!
