Note that you will have to be logged in for your weather report to show up by pressing only "w". If you are not logged in, you may have to spell more of the word "weather".

I am logged in. Maybe something caused their search algorithms to change at the last minute?

I got 'washing golf balls'.
The instant search feature looks at your search history to predict your current search. Simply typing 'w' is likely to return different results for every user depending on wht he has looked for in the past.

I am logged in, I did exactly as instructed and my first result was Walmart.
I don't shop at wal-mart, I don't visit walmart.com I refuse to support that company and therefor it shouldn't be in my histroy.
So either this article is wrong, or walmart has paid Google off. I'd believe the latter, they are scum like that.

This is not a new feature. I don't know why you say that. I've been using this on google for many months now. Other than that, the information is accurate.
For me, the weather report won't come up until I type "we".
