It's possible there's a setting but it's definitely on by default.

(It wouldn't turn *our* webseeds on or off, it would simply I suppose disable any resort to webseeds if no conventional peers are found... but I've never seen such a setting.)

Erf, well it's going now but was pretty slow to get going.

I have gotten things from archive over the years (two or so) and I've never seen these problems. But I am glad I finally cleaned out Transmission. It is incredible to me that a torrent program should be designed so as not to easily uninstall, have to find register entries to delete etc.

I may revisit this thread if problems re-emerge. Thanks for your patience.
