1If your dog is constantly whining, he/she may be sick or achy. Go to your local vet to see if anything is wrong. There was a case in which my dog had a sprained tail, and she was constantly whining and dragging her rump across the floor. With the help of the medication, it will go away in a few weeks.

2If there really is nothing wrong, your dog may be lonely. This doesn't mean for you to go out and buy another dog. Just spend more time with him/her. If they are not lonely and you spend 2 hrs with your dog playing, show the dog that you don't care.

3Do whatever you need to do; blast the music, go to bed with headphones, or just plain ignore them. The dog will realize that whining will not accomplish anything (like with children) and will stop.
