MPEP, TMEP, and TBMP Maintenance
USPTO will perform system maintenance beginning at 12:01 a.m. and ending at 2:01 a.m., Saturday, January 10 EST.
The Manual of Patent Examining Procedure (MPEP), the Trademark Manual of Examining Procedure (TMEP), and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board Manual of Procedure (TBMP) will be unavailable during the maintenance period.
Pay.gov Maintenance
Pay.gov will undergo maintenance beginning at 6 p.m., Saturday, January 10 and continue for six hours until midnight, Sunday, January 11 EST.
The USPTO storefronts will be unavailable for credit/debit card payment processing during the maintenance period. Please submit payment using an alternative payment method, such as:
Patents
- by paying online with an established deposit account or EFT account via EFS-Web;
- by attaching a fee transmittal form (e.g., PTO/SB/17) with deposit account authorization in EFS-Web;
- by faxing in a credit card authorization form PTO-2038 to the USPTO Central Fax 571-273-8300;
- or by sending in a credit card authorization form PTO-2038 through Priority Mail Express(formerly Express Mail) from the United States Postal Services (USPS) in accordance with 37 CFR 1.10.
Facsimile submission of the basic national fee for national stage under 35 U.S.C. 371 is not accepted. Submissions that require successful online payment, such as ePetitions and Pre-grant publication submissions, will be unavailable during the maintenance period.
If you have any questions, contact the Patent EBC by phone at 866-217-9197 or by email at ebc@uspto.gov
Trademarks
Customers with an established deposit account or EFT account will still be able to pay the required fees via those accounts. In addition, forms that do not require a fee payment can still be filed.
If your deadline is during the maintenance period and the document requiring a fee payment cannot be filed electronically, you must use an alternative method of filing. Please visit the TEAS Outage page for information concerning Trademark alternative filing methods.
If you have any questions, contact the TEAS Team by email at TEAS@uspto.gov.
TEAS and TEASi Maintenance
USPTO will perform maintenance on the Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS) and Trademark Electronic Application System International (TEASi) beginning at 12:01 a.m. and ending at 10 a.m., Saturday, January 17 EST.
For additional information on this initiative, see http://www.uspto.gov/trademarks/teas/Reduced_Fees_Info.jsp. Because portable and e-signature forms allow 14 days for signature, it is important that Trademarks customers be aware of this scheduled outage so that you can plan ahead to avoid additional work.
Trademarks' recommendation is that you file all recently created "portable" forms and "e-signature" forms by January 16. Customers unable to do so will be required to start the process again with updated forms. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
