Sadly, they called off the search :( A week had already passed by the time they found his car, which is when they began the search. Our big group was the last big push. With below freezing temperatures, the likelihood of him still being alive was very, very small. But, in the bigger context, that's part of what that work will entail I guess. Searching but not always rescuing. And at least we made an epic effort!

For checkuser rights, I don't think we've given checkusers to a new account in a long while, since it's a touchy privacy issue too. Do you email [email protected] a lot? I think that's a good place to start. It's kind of like becoming an admin - an easy way to show you'd be good with the privilege is to constantly bug the people who have it to use theirs to show that you'd be a good judge :)

I reverted your removal of the deletion tag on the article about minstrel shows. The guideline appears to require a period of discussion before removing it. Since the comment I added is relevant and has a reference, it should also remain unless there is some discussion.

I'm actually Hailey Girges for now. Anyway, instead of reporting, I thought I'd just tell you about this. Buildabearpro123 told me she was going to quit wikiHow just a few minutes ago. She didn't. This makes be uncomfortable with the messages she sends to new users like this one: [1]. It wouldn't make sense because first the block template was added, then she removed it and put the welcome template.

Maybe ignoring what she says would help, but I thought I would just let you know.

For me it was three external links that triggered that error and message. It used to be that the talk page message appeared to be sent, but was not and, also, there was no warning. I presumed that this was by design as a way to limit the spamming, but now I am thinking that maybe it was not. You might want to check about the specifics with Anna before publishing to the world how to circumvent that feature. Or are you talking about six internal links?

Yep. Right with you on that and I am glad you took the bull by the horns. I was on a less friendly system then and lost multiple carefully crafted coaching messages. To me, it was disheartening to try to recreate them. It was like the energy on that particular front had been drained.

Oh, I remember now what used to happen: I would click send and the system would go into sending limbo.—The talk page wouldn't "click over" to display the sent message, nor would it allow me to copy what was in limbo. I remember that I finally took to screen-shooting the wikicode and retyping the message. Yuck, what a mess and what a hassle. I would like to think that my belly-aching to Anna contributed a bit expediting the push of the fix/warning.

If this is the case, is it not better to NFD for one reason initially then if a poor quality article gets deleted then 're-written, we can NFD for a different reason the next time? Answer when ever, am in no rush for an answer. Tags.

Sorry for being vague and not checking my work there. What I want to know really is does giving multiple reasons for NFDing make sense in the big picture? I thought that an article can only be NFD-ed for any reason once, for example ACC. If an article NFD-ed for ACC is re-written, but still inaccurate, we can't NFD for ACC a second time. So, if an article is NFD-ed for lots of reasons at the beginning of its life, then gets NFD, or saved, but is still NFD-able, it can't be NFD-ed again for ANY of those reasons. Is it not easier to get rid of articles that don't meet standards if we don't unleash the whole arsenal at the beginning?

Thank you for your rollback on wikiHow:Use Advanced Wiki Syntax Formatting. Any clue as to what funkiness allows the Table of Contents to be rendered by the magic words __TOC__ here?

Alternatively, do you know how to display the toc manually these days as I sure would like to put at the top of this article.

Look in this link three fourths the way down and you will see the toc rendered. Just wondering how to capitalize on the funkiness, but I can't replicate it and was wondering if your sharp eyes and superior knowledge could work toward insight on that particular instance of rendering.

Thanks for letting me know about that patroller! They actually did quite well on patrol coach - hence not catching my attention. When someone has a tendency to rollback too much, a tight patrol limit will do the trick, since all rollbacks go through RC. I checked the patrol log too and didn't see anything bad approved. If you did see bad stuff getting approved though, let me know!

Oh - and an easy way to check a new patroller is to use Quality Guardian. Open the options, select patrols, and the also enter a username :)
