These hardy, heavy-wooded, vigorous, deciduous vines are invaluable for screening and for draping over verandahs and porches, with the dense foliage providing cool shade during the warmer months, then as the weather cools and the leaves fall, the winter sun is allowed to penetrate. The flowers are highly scented.

Mines on metal and a few of the arbors are being held together by the wisteria. I'm going to build an arbor that separates me from the neighbors and take it across the front then up the sidewalk toward the house like the picture. It should take about 15 years to have it look like that! :--)))))

  • Michelle Gibson

I'm pretty sure this cover picture is wisteria, if so, do NOT plant it on any expensive structures and especially against a house, the roots are crazy strong and can literally tear wood apart. My parents have the splintered remains of a custom pergola to prove it. Very pretty for a few years and then craaaaazy damaging.

This is about as high tec as I can manage! But thankyou! I've got some in the yard already, I'm just going to send it in a different direction and plant more seeds!

It looks like you let the egg shells dry out by putting them into a paper bag for a few days, you can step on them to crush and then put in your food grinder or coffee grinder to grind into a fine powder. If put on the ground will have to be reapplied after a rain. Sprinkle directly on plant that has the beetles on it you are trying to get rid of. This will kill any beetle so be careful of the ones you don't want to kill and are helpful.
