On This PageSYMPTOMS When you use programs that require the Tablet PC Input Panel component on a Microsoft Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005-based computer, the programs may be unreliable.
These programs may function erratically or may close unexpectedly. For example, this problem occurs when you use the Fn+F7 hotkey combination to start the Presentation Director program on Lenovo ThinkPad computers. CAUSE
This problem occurs because of a race condition in the Tablet PC Input Panel component (Tiptsf.dll) where the process may reference a previously freed address.
RESOLUTIONHotfixA supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing.
