FIX: The SQLState section and the NativeError section are missing when you receive an error message in an ADO application on a computer that is running Windows XPArticle ID: 934720 - View products that this article applies to. On This PageSYMPTOMSConsider the following scenario. On a computer that is running Microsoft Windows XP, you run an SQL statement that contains an error in a Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects (ADO) application. You receive an error message as expected. In this scenario, the following sections of the error message are missing if you run the SQL statement asynchronously:
CAUSEThis problem occurs because the Error object does not contain the value of the SQLState section and the value of the NativeError section. Note The Error object is a parameter that is used to post the error message to the user. RESOLUTIONHotfix informationA supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.If the hotfix is available for download, there is a "Hotfix download available" section at the top of this Knowledge Base article.
