How to Patrol Recent Changes on wikiHow (By Namespace)

Two Methods:Traditional Method/Special:Recentchanges ListRecent Changes Patrol App Method

Would you like to patrol edits, in just a single namespace, to the site, such as Discussion, Main, or User? This article will teach you how, and it has two methods.

EditSteps

  1. 1
Register or log in if you haven't already. You need a to have a user account and be logged in to patrol recent changes.

EditMethod One of Two:
Traditional Method/Special:Recentchanges List

  1. 1
  2. 2
Click into the drop-down menu just after Namespace: and choose the namespace that you want to patrol by. The namespaces include (Main), Discussion, User, User talk, wikiHow, and wikiHow talk.
  3. 3
Click on "Go." You will be given a set of edits to patrol; patrol them, following these guidelines.

EditMethod Two of Two:
Recent Changes Patrol App Method

  1. 1
    Go to Special:RCPatrol.
    • You can also access the app by locating the sidebar and clicking on Recent Changes Patrol App, or from the Community Dashboard. But, it's your choice how you want to access the app.
  2. 2
Click on the 'RC Ordering' tab. Once you've clicked on it, locate the Namespace box and choose the namespace that you want to patrol.
  3. 3
Click out of the box. Just to the right of the box is an empty space that will make the highlighting in the box go away. The patrolling tool tends to have funky problems if you leave the Namespace box highlighted with your different selection, as it will leave it at the last namespace you selected before the change.
  4. 4
Skip the edit you're currently on, and you'll be ready to start patrolling edits in the namespace you chose!
