Do you remember?

Where were you on the morning of September 11th, 2001? For many children too young to remember or even be alive, September 11 means very little. Never Forget Foundation was created after the tenth anniversary of the tragedy in New York, Virginia, and Pennsylvania when two members of the Fire Departmen of New York, a responder to the attack on the Pentagon, and three US Navy SEALs threw out the first pitch at the New York Yankees versus Los Angeles Angels game.

There were numerous calls for autographs of the firefighters to sign baseballs and other material for people in the stands when the question came up "how much do these kids even know about that day?" That was the start of a decision to start a non-profit that would reach out to kids who needed coaching and mentoring to help get through their day or week, provide tutoring, and hopefully establish a scholarship fund for students who had overcome significant challenges.

Since its inception in early 2012, Never Forget Foundation (NFF) has wanted to focus in three areas.

• Coaching students about being successful both in high school and in life using lessons from September 11 and other national tragedies.
• Providing training to assist communities and individuals to prepare and overcome disaster.
• Provide scholarships to students who would otherwise not have the ability to attend post-secondary school without financial support and who have shown leadership in overcoming personal adversity.
