How to Edit a Gas Station Listing in the GasBuddy Database
Ever visited the Gas Buddy website and, when searching for a listing, you found information that was wrongly written/typed? You can edit this listing if you have the proper credentials, which include, at the very least, 10,000 points (which is enough to access the MSL (Master Station List). This article will help you in editing the database to correct this information.
EditSteps
-
1Open your web browser and visit the GasBuddy homepage.Ad
-
2Scroll down to the very bottom of the GasBuddy page. There you'll find all the state's pages for a more-localized view.
-
3Select your state, and later a more-precise regional location in your state from the menu in about the center area of the screen.
-
4Login to the GasBuddy website, with your GasBuddy credentials.
-
5Hover over or Tap (depending on touchscreen ability) the "Gas Prices" menu tab from GasBuddy's menu bar.
-
6Click or "Master Station List" link from the screen. You'll find it at the far right end of the screen, and in the bar, just below where you found "Gas Prices" button earlier.
-
7Search through the massive database using the form fields from approximately the center of the screen. The box that contains these items is labeled "Search The List For Your Station". You'll need to know the city, station name, and street.
-
8Click the "Find My Station" button.
-
9Look through the list they provide in the area below and to the right of the area titled "Master Station List Map".
-
10Locate the station that results from the list. Underneath the address to the station, you'll find the link titled "EDIT".
-
11Click the "EDIT" link/button.
-
12Click into the fields that need updating/revising and make as many revisions as it takes to finish adjusting the listing.
-
13Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page, and click the "Save Updated Station Information" button.Ad

EditTips
- If you don't have the 10,000 point minimum, you can still post a new discussion of editing the station information. Someone will take care of it at some point. Make sure to tell people what is wrong and tell people what it should be corrected to. Post the new message in the "Talk Back to Us" link in their forums page.
- If you can also mention in your post what grades of gas are available, and if any of the service-information provided in the Add a New Gas Station Listing to the GasBuddy Database article is available at the station, it would be much appreciated to the editing member.
- If the station built a new station nearby the old station, instead of changing the address, mark the old station address as "Closed-Permanently" and Add a New Gas Station Listing to the GasBuddy Database for the new station address.
