It seems no matter how many times I try and simplify the online bill process there are still a handful of bills that come every week in snail mail. Since we pay the bills online the return envelopes usually end up in the trash. Rather than keep wasting paper, I decided to recycle these envelopes in my own chic way…
A little inside out fold and a little washi tape (yes, washi again… I know I use it a lot but it’s so darn easy to work with!) and you’ve got a new envelope. Since all these bill envelopes have an interior print to keep people from seeing your check I end up with a ton of cool options!

Peel the Envelope Open

Turn It Inside Out

Fold it Back Together (Inside Out)

Tape Up The Sides
Remember, don’t tape the envelope closed until it’s time to use and there’s actually something inside it
How did you address the windows on the envelopes that had them?
How do you address the window part…do you just cover it with paper?
You can just cover it with washi Alexa or write the address on a paper and tuck it inside to be seen through the window. ~Rachel
Ok, great. Talked about washi tape to a group of folks at a talk…we all had envelopes with a letter, got given them all…so now I just need to get some washi and I can up-cycle!
