Learn an easy way to export Microsoft Exchange mailboxes or specific items such as emails, calendars and tasks to .PST files with Veeam Explorer for Microsoft Exchange. You can use this FREE tool for both physical and virtual Microsoft Exchange 2010 and 2013 databases. Follow the steps below to quickly export data from an Exchange database without firing up an entire server.

    Download and install Veeam Backup Free Edition, a free tool with no expiration date, to a Windows-based OS.

  2. Launch Veeam Explorer for Microsoft Exchange

    Launch Veeam Explorer for Microsoft Exchange, a free standalone tool included in Veeam Backup Free Edition, which will help you convert the Microsoft Exchange 2010 or Microsoft Exchange 2013 database to PST.
  3. Specify path to ese.dll

    Go to Menu => Options. In the open window, select the Extensible Storage Engine tab and specify the path to the ESE.DLL file used by Microsoft Exchange to create the required database.
  4. Select mailbox store

    Click Add Store on the toolbar and specify the paths to the EDB file and the Exchange logs folder to mount the Exchange database you need to export.
    NOTE: You can mount both physical and virtual Microsoft Exchange databases.
  5. Select an item to convert to pst

    Use the navigation pane to select the folder, or use the main working area to select an item that you want to convert to a PST file. Veeam Explorer for Microsoft Exchange allows you to convert either a specific folder or an individual item to a PST file.
  6. Select export to pst file

    Right-click the selected object and select Export to PST file. You can also click the Export Folder and Export Items on the toolbar and select Export to PST file.
