How to Execute a Left or Right Facing Movement
For all of you who don't know, a left/right facing movement is a movement that is used by the U.S. military to sharply turn a particular direction. This movement can be difficult.
Steps
-
1Stand with your feet at a 45 degree angle (the space in between your feet should resemble a 45 degree angle.)Ad
-
2For a left face, slightly lift the tip of your left foot, putting the weight on the heel of the left foot, and slightly lift the heel of your right foot.
-
3Sharply turn to the left by pivoting on the heel of your left foot and the ball of your right foot.
-
4Once step 3 is completed, "drive" your right ankle against your left ankle.
-
5If executed properly, you should have turned 90 degrees to the left and your feet should be at the 45 degree angle you started out with.
-
6For a right face, instead of slightly lifting the tip of the left foot, lift the tip of the right foot and the heel of your right foot. Then repeat steps 3-5 but turn right instead.Ad
