    Make the hole in the bottle cap. Use a multi-tool (or whatever you have handy). Be sure that the 1⁄4 inch (0.6 cm) bolt will be able to go through it, but have a snug fit.

    Put a washer inside the bottle cap and then put the bolt through the washer and the bottle cap. The way you will be pushing it through is from the inside of the cap.
