Tips
Provide Details.
Please be as detailed as possible in your explanation. Don't worry about formatting! We'll take care of it. For example:
Don't say: Eat more fats.
Do say: Add fats with some nutritional value to the foods you already eat. Try olive oil, butter, avocado, and mayonnaise.

Tips

  • Prior to 2007, the Merge policy stated that distinct topics should not be moved. Occasionally, pages are retitled to reflect changing content. In either case, it is acceptable to unmerge a page as long as you write a new high-quality, distinct page.
  • This technique is also useful to re-title a high-quality page with a more concise, more commonly searched title. For example, let's assume "Play Chess" was redirected to "Play Chess With a Computer". Then, a page entitled "Play Chess the Common Way" was created. The redirect would then be removed, so the new page could be given the more concise, more commonly searched title of "Play Chess".

Warnings

  • Unmerging pages that the community generally feels should be merged is considered counter-productive and frowned upon.
